Harry Potter Poll Results

Last week I did a Harry Potter Poll, and this post is the results!

DPMS’s favorite Harry Potter character is… Hermione Granger with five! Bellatrix Lestrange came second, with four votes.

DPMS’s favorite Harry Potter book is… a tie between Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, both with three votes.

DPMS’s favorite trio is… silver trio, which is Ginny, Neville, and Luna. They got seven votes! The golden trio, Harry, Ron, and Hermione, came next, with four votes.

DPMS’s favorite wand wood is… ash, with three votes, closely followed by aspen, with two.

DPMS’s favorite wand core is… Phoenix Feather, with six votes, and then a tie between Dragon Heartstring and Unicorn Hair, both with two votes.

And finally, a majority of DPMS students are in… Ravenclaw!!!!!!!!!!!!  With four people in Ravenclaw, we can assume that DPMS students are wise. However, three votes went to Slytherin, which might explain all the fights lately.

THANKS FOR TAKING MY POLL!

8 things to do when bored!

8 things to do when bored!

Everyone has been bored at some time. To help with that, here are 8 things to do when bored!

1. Perler Beads

Perler beads are a great way to keep busy! All you do is arrange colorful pegs on a pegboard, iron it, and you’re done! You can make patterns, people, things, anything you want!

2. Tie Dye

Tie dye is a lot easier than it looks! Just get a 100% cotton  item (It has to be 100% cotton or the tie die won’t work), tie it up however you want,  apply the dye, and you’ve tie dyed!

3. Write a book/short story

Writing a book or story passes a lot of time really quickly! I’ve written a few stories myself, and strongly believe it’s a great thing to do.

4. Baking

Baking is great. It is one of my all-time favorite pastimes. Some people think it’s hard, but it’s actually really easy. And, bonus! You get food!

5. Watch a movie

I love watching movies, don’t you? Whether it’s the action-packed new Marvel, a nice family comedy, or a Harry Potter marathon, movies are a great way to pass time.

6. Origami

Origami is really fun! I really enjoy it! (Even if I do usually end up crumpling up my failed project.) There is lots of custom paper you can buy, usually with special instructions to make characters, items, or pretty much anything!

7. Learn an instrument

Learning an instrument can be challenging, but rewarding. I have learned two instruments, and totally love it. Once you know enough notes, start finding songs you know and like. Then, put on a concert!

8. Collecting

Collecting is really worth your while. Yes, it might cost you money, but, depending on what you collect, it might be worth it. Whether it’s rocks, stamps, baseball cards, or soup cans, you’ll definitely have something to brag about to your friends.

Well, there you have it! Next time you are bored, pick one thing at random off this list!

RESTAURANT REVIEW: Black Tap

When I was in NYC (see previous post), I ate at a restaurant called Black Tap. This place has burgers, sandwiches, wings, salads, fries, and shakes. Everything here is large. Burgers are huge, and shakes are enormous. The shakes are called “Crazyshakes.” I ordered a Texan Burger, which is a burger with bacon, barbecue sauce, and an onion ring on top, with a side of onion rings. I also ordered a Brooklyn Blackout shake, which is a chocolate shake with brownies in it, chocolate chips and frosting along the edge, and whipped cream with chocolate drizzle on top. (No, it’s not the one in the picture.) Click here for the menu!

Here is more of the shakes.

TRAVEL REVIEW: New York City

I was in New York City two weeks ago, and here is my review of my stay! I was there for 6 days with my Grandma and my cousin.  We stayed at The Pearl Hotel, just seven and a half blocks away from Times square. We went all over Manhattan, taking the subway all around. We saw the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern art, and all sorts of cool stuff. My favorite place we ate at was a restaurant called Black Tap, because of the immense size of the burgers and shakes. We went up to the top of the One World Trade Center, and visited the memorial pools of the Twin Towers. We went to a Harry Potter store, a Lego store, a M&M store, and a little tourist store. Overall, 10/10. I recommend traveling to NYC, and would totally go there again.

A little about me

                           A funny picture of me

My name is Miles Pimentel. Four words that describe me would be funny, hungry, smart, and mischievous. Nike’s slogan is “Just Do It,” and my slogan is “Just Eat It.” If I had to live off of one food for the rest of my life it would be oatmeal cream pies. If I could live anywhere in the world I would live in New York City. If I could turn anything into an Olympic Sport, I would win a gold medal in Speed Eating.
